Blumenkinder

In meiner Jugendzeit verbrachte ich sehr viel Zeit in der freien Natur. So lag es auf der Hand, dass diese circa 58 cm großen Blumenkinder 1997-2000 figürlich umgesetzt wurden. Ich erstellte diese Figuren zu 100 % in Handarbeit. Die Anfertigung des Tonmodells erfolgte als Ganzplastik, nach welcher die Porzellangussformen entstanden. Dann unterzog ich die ausgegossenen Rohlinge einem Vor- und einem Endbrand, hierauf erfolgten zwei weitere Brandvorgänge für den Farbauftrag. Sämtliche Näharbeiten, Körper und Kleidung sind Eigenproduktionen.

In my youth I spent a lot of time in the great outdoors. So it was obvious that these flower children, who are about 58 cm tall, were figuratively realised between 1997-2000. I created these figures 100% by hand. The clay model was made as a complete sculpture, after which the porcelain casting moulds were made. Then I subjected the poured out blanks to a preliminary and a final firing, followed by two further firing processes for the application of colour. All sewing, bodies and clothes are my own production.

Die Seerose

Das blaue Kleid mit dem Netzgewebe bedeutet Wasser. Die halbgeschlossenen Blüten befinden sich am Ärmel, die volle Blüte mit dem ausgebreiteten Blatt schmückt den Kopf. Die am Knie gebundene Hose erinnert an frühere Bademode.

The blue dress with the mesh fabric means water. The half-closed flowers are on the sleeve, the full flower with the spread leaf decorates the head. The trousers tied at the knee are reminiscent of earlier swimwear.

Der Mohn

Eine erotische Blume mit viel Rot und Schwarz. Der bauschige rote Rock ist unübersehbar. Zusätzlich sind die vielen schwarzen Staubgefäße der Blume durch eine weich-daunige Straußenfeder dargestellt. Die duftig-schwarzen Puffärmel mit dem Oberteil und gefüttertem Rock symbolisieren die Nacht. Aber Vorsicht bei dieser Pflanze: aus Mohn – Papaver – kann auch ein Rauschmittel hergestellt werden. Der Kopf mit dem Blumenschmuck gleicht in etwa der Kontur der Mohnkapsel.

An erotic flower with lots of red and black. The fluffy red skirt cannot be missed. In addition, the flower's many black stamens are represented by a soft, downy ostrich feather. The fragrant black puffed sleeves with the top and lined skirt symbolise the night. But be careful with this plant: an intoxicant can also be made from poppy (papaver). The head with the floral decoration roughly resembles the contour of the poppy capsule.

Die Kornblume

Die Kleiderstoffe sind den Blütenfarben Hell- und Kornblumenblau angepasst. Das Duftige der Blüte wird durch den durchsichtigen Seidenrock unterstrichen. Die Blätter sind als Corsage und im Hosensaum zu sehen. Den Kopf ziert ein dichter Kornblumenkranz mit langen blauen Bändern.

The dress fabrics are adapted to the flower's colours light and cornflower blue. The fragrance of the blossom is underlined by the transparent silk skirt. The leaves can be seen as corsage and in the trouser hem. The head is decorated with a dense cornflower wreath with long blue ribbons.

Der Waldfarn

Die braun-rote Hose ist dem Waldboden nachempfunden. Das Blatt, aus dem Oberteil und Manschetten genäht sind, symbolisiert die Bäume, unter denen Waldfarne meistens stehen.

The brown-red trousers are modelled on the forest floor. The leaf, from which the top and cuffs are sewn, symbolises the trees under which forest ferns usually stand.
